On Sunday, May 3rd (the day after the Derby) we will be organizing another Community Velo Swap as one of the very first events to get the month of Bike Lexington started. The event will be held in the front parking lot of The Void Skate Shop on High Street, between Kentucky Ave and Woodland Ave. from 10:30am until 4pm.

Last year's Velo Swap was a huge success, and we're hoping to have an even better turnout this time around. The Swap is open to the public, and is free. Participants are encouraged to bring anything bike-related to sell or trade, and each person is responsible for their own set-up. If you want to bring a box of parts, or even complete bikes to sell, bring them! There will be a few tables available, but feel free to bring whatever you feel will help you arrange your goods. It is also very helpful to others if you tag or mark your items ahead of time with prices, so people will know how much your asking for them.

HUGE HUGE thanks go out to Reid Small from the Void, who was our host last year and enjoyed it so much, he gladly offered to help us out again.

Some of the details are still being worked out, and I will post more information as it comes in.

Photos from last year can be seen here:

I am gonna bring my three fixed gear wheel sets to sell for about $20 each. I have a pink set, a white set, and an orange set!

Just kidding. Maybe I'll just sell my POS polo bike and old mallet as a set (not my birthday mallet, thanks brian and grant)

I think you should rethink that whole "polo retirement" thing.

Yeah! You should. We always enjoy having new potential players come out. Now that we have court lights we can play after dark.

I did the same thing. Didn't sell my wheel, went home with two frames.

Thankfully this year it won't coincide with UK's graduation, so we should have little competition from other events.

Actually, there will be some competition, but I think it will be to our advantage.

Since the Void's "Park Daze" event that was supposed to be last weekend got rescheduled due to rain, Reid is having it on the 3rd - same day as the Velo Swap. He was fully aware of the two coinciding, and we've talked about it so it should all be good... In fact, since they are so close together, I think we'll get a good overflow of traffic from the skatepark event.
