It's time for Flying Pig Couriers annual Evil Alleycat. A group of us went last year and it kicked our butts. If anyone is interested in going up there, shoot me an email at tiffany.morrow@gmail.com

Here is a link to the information:

Starting location is at Sawyer Point

damn... so I guess it is this weekend after all. Short notice for such a big race, huh?

I like how Mark states (in a roundabout way) that riders who act like dicks at checkpoints could be DQ'ed. We should start doing that here, because I hate it when racers get all shitty with you for not signing their manifest fast enough, or whatever it is you have them do at the checkpoints. Like the checkpoint worker is the one who is somehow keeping them from winning the race... Rolling Eyes

Whoa! That's 25 miles before brunch...in an urban blender with flying pigs. I'm sure they planned some comforting views of the river before cataclysmic failure of bike, legs, heart, etc...

It is intriguing race in their description, especially the nasty descent (must of us wankers just use gravity, but on ascents we dismount) which means it must be pretty damn steep and curvy. I'm guessing there's probably 300+ feet of relief along the river. Evil, but for the Lex crew participating remember this: we eat pigs and race horses.

Kyle and I went. There were about 30 riders... only 15 finished. The best route you could possibly take was 29 miles, and we got lost a couple times putting us up around 33 I guess. One catch was that you had to make it to the ferry by 9:45pm (the last ferry) otherwise you would have to ride the long way back. It kicked our butts but we had a blast... placed around 7th and 8th.
