I want to file the "positive retention devices" off the aluminum dropouts on my front fork. Are there any particular issues with this project; not legal or safety issues, just mechanical issues? Or is it as straight forward as it seems. I was just going to take a couple of files and smooth 'em off.

It's as simple as it seems. Just don't forget to tighten your quick release!

Christopher, for the love of god don't start this endeavor without consulting your handy Park Tool Blue Book of Bike Repair... make sure you have all the proper safety precautions (googles, gloves, flame-retardant apron)... and make sure you have the official Park Tool Lawyer Lip Filing DeviceŽ (PLL-8008).

Trust me, you want to live to ride another day.

sorry, I felt I owed you one, Rowe Smile

I was just going to go down to Wildcat Wheels and make Jakub do it, do you think that will be okay?

(And I happen to like my Park Tool Blue Book!)
