anybody have any experience or impressions of the roll top backpacks that have come out in the last year or so? i know timbuk2 and chrome both make waterproof and decent sized ones.

i'm looking to get away from the one shoulder thing as it just puts too much stress on my back when loaded up real heavy.

I don't have a roll-top but i got the Timbuk2 Swig (which has the flap) not too long ago for traveling and whatnot. And i love it. Its simple but very comfortable and usually when I'm traveling for work i have my Macbook and my work laptop with me. I would say their roll-top is similar to it.

Roll tops have been out for a while, messengers I knew in columbus used them for the reasons you suggest, only downside I could remember about them was that you have to take them completely off to get in them.
