I just noticed that they restriped Elm Tree between 2nd and 5th, and instead of two lanes with a bicycle lane on the far right, now there's a bicycle lane down the middle of the street, with a regular lane to the left of that, and what appears to be a car-sized lane to the right that is a mix of parking spaces and (maybe?) a shared lane...

I hadn't heard anything about this, and to be honest, it looks kinda weird and isn't really all that apparent what is supposed to be going on with that far right lane.

Two people asked me about it yesterday. They were confused. Thought it might be parking for the Lyric?

Ok, apparently they hadn't quite finished the striping work when I rode through there. Now, it is apparent that the right lane is parking... But I can see how motorists might get confused without signs telling them the obvious.

I was a bit confused when I was on it this weekend, because not all of the parking lanes had been finished, and I witnessed a car traveling in each lane, with a cyclist going down the middle (in bike lane) and a person pushing a shopping cart going down the wrong way in the bike lane... the cyclist had to swerve into the left lane to avoid the shopping cart... it just all seemed very dangerous and confusing at the time.
