I'm selling my 2009 58cm Soma Smoothie. It has a steel frame (Tange Prestige double-butted tubing) with road race geometry. (Details can be found at http://somafab.com/geometry03.html) I built it in October '09 with all new parts with the intent to break into the world of road riding, but I found that I like mountain biking much better. I'd estimate the mileage to be about 400 miles. It's a handsome machine and the steel frame and carbon fork make for a very pleasant ride-- perfect for club rides and centuries. Mechanically, the bike is 100% and functions as new (I used to be a bike mechanic). It has never been crashed or even ridden in the rain, and it has always been stored indoors. The only blems are a small chip on the top tube and some light scratches on the drive-side crank from a chain derailment. Other than that, the bike looks great.
Highlights of the build include the following:
'09 Sram Rival Group including OCT 34/50 compact crank, front and rear derailleurs, brakes, and shifters
Sram PG-1070 12-27t cassette
Shimano Ultegra chain
Shimano RS20 wheelset
Hutchinson Fusion 2 and Conti Ultra Race 700x23C tires
IRD Mosaic carbon fork w/ Aluminum crown and steerer (Soma spec)
Brooks B-17 Champion Narrow Saddle
Truvativ Team two-bolt, micro-adjust seatpost +10mm offset
"Dimension"-branded winged compact bars
The complete bike WITH PEDALS (Shimano PD-M520 spd's) weighs about 20.5 pounds according to the bathroom scale. It could easily lose a couple pounds with a few component changes. Everything pictured on the bike goes with it.
I haven't even ridden this bike since May and would like to get rid of it. Reasonable offers will be entertained.

I built up one of these frames for someone early this year and can vouch that yes, this frame rides buttery smooth. Nice bike! |
