Google has finally expanded the directions options to include bicycling, walking and public transport.

There is also a new Bicycling layer (under the More option) that indicates bike trails, bike lanes, and bike-friendly roads.

Nice, but some of the data is outdated. I know Rick Gersony has been pushing google for awhile.
