LEXINGTON, KY – Artstop, Lexington’s second artistically designed bus shelter, will be dedicated this Sunday, August 2nd at 3:00 pm. The shelter is located in downtown Lexington’s East End at the corner of Third Street and Elm Tree Lane across from the Lyric Theater.

The new transit shelter incorporates a large metal sculpture entitled “Lyrical Movement” and five 2-D art mural panels, celebrating the connection between art and transit, function and inspiration. The unique outdoor gallery will display artwork that celebrates the rich history and culture of the East End while embracing change in the neighborhood and exploring its future.

seeing them install that over the past month or so, that thing looks built to spill. The footer for it was enormous, and the amount of steel in it is impressive. If there's any sort of earthquake or weather-related cataclysm, I think I'm going to run and get under that bad boy!

you forgot "tax dollars". The Lyric is the new whipping boy for those types of people.

I can guarantee you that it is built more solidly and with more care than 99% of all suburban homes!
