Does anyone have the ability to cut metal into shapes? Semi thick, so... Yeah. Just straight lines, but I don't have any equipment.

well, i'm having a hard time processing all the information you've loaded your post down with, but i'd suggest you go to home depot and buy a hack saw. then start sawing.

If you post more details about what you are doing and why and I can probably help you out. I have access to a plasma cutter, oxy-fuel torches, and abrasive cut-off wheels. I like making sparks, but only for a worthy cause.

maybe try someone in the art department at uk? i know us architecture kids dont have any metal working stuff for anything but non-ferrous metals, and even then its not supposed to be more than a quarter inche thick i think.

I don't know if they have created profiles here on the Lexrides forums, but there are several guys here in town (who have also been to the last few bike events) who build their own bikes. Some are straight-forward builders, while others get a bit more "inventive" with their creations. You might want to ask around to see if you could get in touch with them... one is Richard Stover (sp? - I hope I got his name right) who builds those super stretched-out cruisers you've seen around town. Then there's the guy who built the electric bike with the dual rear wheels... then there's Alex Meade, etc.

I'm sure all of these guys would have access to all sorts of metal manipulating tools.
