Reality: poor kids ride the bus, get rowdy.

wtf?! did we learn NOTHING from the original Triangle Park design? and hello - can we say rape corridor? as a landscape architect myself, i'm not so sure about this, M2D . . . maybe go back to the drawing board?

Bring on the ideas, and I hope the H-L keeps publishing them no matter how half-assed, or naively altruistic they might seem. It just keeps the focus on the fact that THERE'S A HUGE SLUDGE PIT IN OUR DOWNTOWN, and that folks are getting impatient over what's going to happen there.

The HL is fantastic. This centerpit has become one of the more lively/depressing conversations about downtown. I'm all for a forest or orchard or nursery or just more plant life downtown.

Logan...maybe all of these exuberant kids can learn to climb trees here?

Lou...i agree maybe M2D could develop this idea to avoid a Triangle Park...but it is so simple. Putting 'nature' back into the urban fabric is a consistent theme for Bluegrass image. Some comments on HL mention that it would become part of the "Winchester Pool" at Phoenix Park, where all of the Bums wash and prevent normal people from hanging out.

I still think whatever is done with the pit should include the tunnel that runs under the sidewalk on the Vine side of the block:

Log flume?
Gondola rides?
Mud bog racin'?

what i think downtown really needs is a diverse, hip spot that brings a variety of people to the street level to mix and mingle, with art, music, food, & culture that would encourage artmaking and give the youth of lexington some agency and ownership over their town....

oh wait....
