Bluegrass Airport is hosting this month's 2nd Sunday event by opening up the new air strip for bikes and pedestrians! How crazy is that? This is likely a one-time only opportunity to do something like this in this setting...

A group of people will be meeting downtown to ride out to Bluegrass Airport en masse if you're interested. I'll post more about those details as I find out.

Broke and all -
Second Sunday ride to new airport runway will begin at old Courthouse downtown for 2pm departure.
We will take Versailles Road for the 7.5 mile ride. Versailles Road should not be too busy that time of day on Sunday.
Versailles Road viaduct and hill up to Mason Headley are both pretty manageable, pretty short grades. Hill up Fire Rescue Center driveway tho is another story.
Be sure to bring drinks and snacks and maybe a hat and sunscreen...not many shade trees growing out around the new runway.
