I really want to believe we're one of the unnamed "strictly local" gangs in this article. What with the habitual traffic law breaking and unauthorized use of city parks for sporting events.

Excuse me, I have to go tag "lexRydaz4lyfe" in the alley behind Busters.

what's funny is that Lexington's bike culture is probably closer to being a "gang" than a bunch of kids spray painting sloppy tags on dumpsters behind a K-Mart... at least I bet we're more organized and stylish.

Hell, once we all get tattooed with ol' skully... there's no turning back.

we need to protect ourselves, time to organize, you know safety in numbers. then we can go to bike kill and dominate.

North Side Crips, I think. My hood's claimed by the East Side Bloods.

We should start practicing dance fighting after polo on Sundays.

To keep with the theme, next movie night = Warriors?

So is our rival gang the Bluegrass Cycling Club? Should we start slashing their tires and throwing sand in their bottom brackets? And aren't gangs just a bunch of drug runners and pushers? Now I see why all the people in the BCC are training to ride so fast.

I dont think they are a rival, they are just a gang that coexists. the difference is we dont need cars to get to our bike functions. but at least they ride bikes. i guess we should fight the car clubs/blow up gas stations or something.

that, and i decided to join the BCC, to support the charity stuff they do.

I'm down with getting skully...got the spot already picked out, just need a night of beer, bikes, and ending at CL.

jkizzle, shark or jet... not Both Very Happy

there is a $1000 on Southland to catch the new tagger in this area. Who wants to take on for the team, we turn you in, bail you out and then split the 1k...that is a lot of PBR and Pappa O's at Als

Nah, the BCC is neither a rival gang nor a simply co-existing one. It's more like the Shriners or something. A qualitatively different system to fraternize, exercise, and charitize.

The average BCC rider is slower than the average Alleycat and ain't really interested in getting all that faster. I would be interested in seeing the fastest Alleycats go up against the fastest BCC riders, but the outcome would be impossible to predict because it's so situation specific. In general, I'd guess that the Alleycats have more people that can get through a technical ten miles quicker, and the BCC has more people that can get through a hilly 105 miles quicker.

Plenty of people in the BCC bike to ride starts. On daily, "lifestyle" and commuting type riding, I'd say the Alleycats have the edge in percentage but the BCCers have the edge in numbers.

That said, I don't necessarily recommend it for everybody, just like I don't necessarily recommend Alleycat races for everybody.

But there's too many things to work on together, and to have fun doing together, to throw shoulder about the differences. Allleycats ride to Al's, BCC riders do a 60 mile loop of tastings at the area wineries. It's all good.

Except for the tatoos. The skull would make a much better tatoo than the BCC logo.

Joleigh could do it. She doesn't have a record yet. Worst she'd get is juvie.

As for our enemies, I think we should target these dudes first, they're using the polo field for unsavory activities:

now is probably a good time to inform you guys that I have quit all bike-related activities and have joined the Lexington Jugglerz, or Jugga-ho's as we like to call ourselves.

My skills are improving; I'm up to 3 bowling pins, a scrabble board and a gerbil.

I have grown a pony-tail as well.

All this bike stuff was getting too trendy for me anyways.

Jugglers would only be intimidating if they looked like this:

We need to prepare for a serious threat to our territory. They're invading in July: http://www.juggle.org/festival/

I liked the Furies and the Hi-Hats best, even though the Hi-Hats do indeed look like a juggling gang.

Orphans forever!

Would you like to see our clippings?

There's a full list of gangs from the script on IMDB. #1 is The Alleycats. Natch.
