I'm not going to be able to organize the Lexrides entry into the St Pat's parade this year. If anyone else would like to, please do.

The parade is Saturday March 13, 2010 at 1:00pm.

Entry is free, and you can download the application form at www.lexingtonstpatsparade.org

Is the tweed ride coinciding with parade?

Ok...so I have the app form filled out with this Description of Entry:

"Lexrides is a community not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting fun and eccentric events for all Lexington bicyclists. We are planning a "Tweed Ride" during the parade where a few dozen bicyclists will dress in vintage woolen clothing, ride unconventional bikes, and sport a dapper, buoyant attitude. We feel this tweed ride would nicely compliment the St. Patrick's Day Parade, because riders will showcase a historical style of dress that evokes the long tradition of Irish culture in the Bluegrass."

I haven't sent it in. Robert do you approve or want to add anything?

Hey! This sounds like a great idea, and that "parade copy" is spot on. Looks like things are developing....

another thing, please don't let "vintage woolen clothing" scare you off.

basically, everyone just dress like you're from the 19th Century, and you'll fit right in. This will be a blast!

One thing to keep in mind is that they usually read the application almost verbatim as the group passes the reviewing stand.

Tweeding up the parade sounds great. And warm. Warm is good.

You have to be an organization to be in the parade.

Pat's so cute when he gets all anti-establishment-y.
