Hail, fellow poloeurs!
I'm Zachary, from Bloomington. I know you don't know me, but in the spirit of playing more bike polo I wanted to reach out to our brothers to the south. I know some of your faces just from watching matches at COMO, but I'd love to meet everyone personally when you guys show up at the Lockin. (we're bringing 8 + spectators to stlouis)
Polo in bloomington is still really young, but we're still playing 3 times a week and have had more and more people show up each week (even though the weather has been getting worse and worse).
So if y'all are up for some inter-city friendlies we'd be more than happen to travel. Hell, isn't there a high school basketball Indiana-Kentucky allstar game?? Maybe we could get an interstate grudge match going on... (Indy/Btown vs. Lville/Lex)? |

Hey Zachary,
Thanks for reaching out and great idea for a grudge polo match. Come on down. I'm a Bloomington expat, but here in the south we get all dixiefried...and Lexington is much more 'southern' than Louisville. Where do you guys play in Bloomington? |

Hey Zachary! Thanks for contacting us. I'm sure you'll get to meet most of us at the lock-in a couple weeks from now; about half of the entire polo community in Lexington will be going to that. Like Chris (rocknroll) said, we've got a really great court setup here, and we love having out-of-towners come in to play with us. You guys should plan a weekend trip and we'll get Louisville, Cincy and Dayton to come in as well. All of those folks are really cool and fun to play with too. _________________ ------------[] O |

Fuck yes! See, this is why I love polo.
Two courts together!?!?! Damn that's perfect. We most definitely want to come down as soon as possible, but I love the idea of getting some 4-way friendlies going on... and spacing things out for maximum polo. How about we all share some beers at the lockin and get acquainted, then try for friendlies a few weeks later (sometime in February). I don't think any of us are going down to Pensacola for otenspringbreak, so it'd be nice to have an event to fill the month up. And fuck, if you can get Lville and Cincy in on this too this we could do a "getting to know you" tourney where everyone plays with new people from other cities.
You guys sound like you have a solid scene going, im sure there's a lot we can learn from ya. Many of us are already planning our entire year around traveling to tournaments, so you'll be seeing lots of us whether you like it or not! |
