|
|
Will and I were talking about this last week, so I thought I would bring it up here in search of explanation/tips...
Why are all the bike shops in town closed on Sunday? Surely some shop, and shop would realize that Sunday is approx 1/2 of the weekend, and the weekend being when all of the fattie/spandex/money crowd get off their $1200 couches to see what it's like outside!
Every bike shop I've ever been into on a Sunday is slammed, albeit it's the older, slightly more annoying crowd - but they're spending money.
Any shop willing to be open for say, half the day, morning preferably, would clean up every weekend. Even us daily riders could grab a part or two when we need one on a Sunday.
Thoughts? Tips on a bike shop that I could go to today? |

Pedal the Planet used to do it, not sure if they still do or not... still, it was only for part of the season and not year-round. _________________ ------------[] O |

Yea Pedal the Planet said they would have stayed open for the warm season on sunday, because when they first reopened this year on sundays, they were slammed. When i was talking to the guys out there they said it just dropped off and wasnt worth being open on sunday now bc the business had become slow. |

I have a feeling Pedal Power would be best equipped to facilitate Sunday hours due to their ideal location, but I could be wrong...
I think PTP's location allows them to cater to a different type of customer, so I can see how it may or may not be conducive for sales on Sunday. _________________ ------------[] O |

As a bike shop employee, from what I understand it's pretty traditional for shops to be closed on Sunday to give shop staff the chance to get out and ride, or whatever. I'm glad to work in a segment of retail that actually closes for one day a week. It's like having Labor Day every week! _________________ CHECK YES! |

I also enjoy not having to work on Sunday. Seems to me Saturday is just about all the weekend one needs to get to a bike shop for his or her weekend purchases. |

not unless someone at pedal power sells you the wrong tubes you asked for. And then when you go to fix a flat before polo you realize that all they sold you were tubes with valve stems that were too short for the deep v's you needed them for. then you're almost fucked and out of play for the day. |
