Can I talk any of you into volunteering? I will use the normal bribery tools: beer, bike stuff, coffee, lunch, beer. You get the idea. I need help getting set up around 8, and I need help selling stuff throughout the day. So far it is just me and it looks like I might have a hard time handling the response. Please email if you are interested:

Damn good time!
Brad, do you think that you this idea to some more shops around town, using how amazingly quick and well this morning went as example? Surely some other shops have a similar stuff tucked away - probably not as many complete(-ish) bikes, but old parts that can't be sold as new and etc.
Hope the trike found a home by the end of the day. |

Thanks to everyone that helped and to those of you that came out and bought stuff. I hope you found some treasures.
The sale was a huge success.
We were able to keep some money in the kitty to continue fixing a bike a week and write Kentucky Refugee Ministries a check for $3000.
Thanks again.... Brad |

I don't see why not. It didn't take much work to coordinate. Part of the hype, though, was because there were so many bikes. Complete bikes were the big hit at the last velo swap, too. Maybe a combination of a shop's stuff and community parts would be a good middle ground? |

I bet it would be easy - we could practically go on tour with it. Everybody loves a tax writeoff! |

Brad,
Thanks again for hosting the bike sale. It was a great time and I scored some nice mountain bikes for my kids. After a few minor repairs, we were riding the trails at veterans park.
I thought you were joking when you mentioned mixing beer and orange juice. Curiosity got the better of me and I tried the mix at home. It was surprising good.
