When: 8:30am, Saturday, September 12
Where: Farmer's Market, downtown Lexington
What: Police-escorted 10-mile bike ride from downtown to Town Branch Trail and back. Press conference to announce recent developments for Town Branch Trail.
Join Mayor Jim Newberry and all the cycling friends of Town Branch Trail for a 10-mile bike rally from the Lexington Farmer’s Market at Cheapside Park in Downtown Lexington on a round trip bike tour out to celebrate the completion of the first 1.8-mile section of Town Branch Trail, Saturday, September 12, from 8:30AM to 10AM.
Accomplished riders 16 years of age or older are welcome to register and ride with Mayor Newberry and an escort provided by the Lexington Police Department on a loop ride from Downtown out along the trail and back. A 9AM press conference on the trail will honor this big leap forward, taking us closer to connecting the city with our world-famous rural landscape, connecting a bright future to our rich pioneer past.
We are getting longer. We are getting stronger!

It'll be sooo crisp and clean in the morning. I hope we have some morning bikers who support Town Branch Trail...even after spending the night before at Buster's. I actually won't be able to make it. We're having our first Sheltowee Trace conference in Winchester that morning. Seems like everything got booked on this Saturday, possibly because the next two weekend are big UK football home games. |
