yesterday i saw 2 boys on a bike that was stolen from my neighbor's house. (I was in the car with my kids, no very condusive to chasing down preteens on bikes) today, My other neighbor's bike is missing. I am only assuming that these boys have taken both bikes. We live near the UK library. If you live near there, your bike should already be locked up. if it isn't, you should do it now.
the boys are about 10-13 years old, black, about 5 feet tall. average build.
if you see them on bikes, i would recommend scaring the shit out of them.
what i wouldn't give to see the fools stealing a fixie and rolling down oldham avenue and realizing they had no brakes. |

forget the brakes! hopefully the drivetrain momentum would throw them over the handlebars before they realized that there may or may not be brakes on the bike. _________________ ------------[] O |

"Death trap bikes." Now for kids!!! Brought to you by the loving parents living in the UK library area.
On another note, I think I just saw them riding around on some sort of purple cruiser thing, though it might be different kids that play amongst student occupied apartments. |

I respect folks looking out for each others bikes but make sure you know the bike is 100% before you generalize a group of kids and try to take a bike that they are riding. |

I just lost my fixie near the uk library... Exactly why I thought it'd be left in a yard 3 houses down... |

+1 maybe describe the bike, not the kids. I get confused for a group of three preteen boys all the time. |

I actually live on the corner of oldham and high (a bit away from here, but close enough) and just had my bike stolen as well. Definitely second the advice on locking up. |

you should lock your bike no matter where you live in town. or keep it in a secure, locked structure.
porches, backyards, 3-walled garages and open carports are all fair game for would-be bike thieves. _________________ ------------[] O |
