Is there room for an alleycat on the May calendar? I could probably put something together with a few friends. |

I think the calendar is being finalized now. however, that does not mean that you can't throw a race!
I would suggest looking at the calendar and find a date that has fewer events that would conflict and then just plan the race and advertise the hell out of it. |

Partial list is up, with many of the events listed already. We're still trying to double-check and finalize the full calendar and the printed brochure. That should all be taken care of in the next couple of days.

thanks homies
So the interactive calendar is live. I'm asking anyone who owns an event to register and make sure their event is current, or otherwise promote it with photos and additional material. For example, Bike to Bluegrass would pop with some photos and even samples of music. With the comment feature anyone can leave a message saying, "hey biking to bluegrass from here..." I'll still manage the schedule via updates from the committee, so which ever channel you want to go through is your choice.
I've embedded a google map too. If you own an event and have a course, then you can create a map in My Google Maps and drop in the link into a post and viola, a map is generated. I thought about it for the Progressive Dinner, but since it required registration on active.com, I thought twice. Also, the map can interpret GPX files and georss feeds from flickr, etc...
If I need to add any other tweaks or treats, let me know! |

so, how do we add photos to the events? I'm not the best with links and tags outside of phpBB. _________________ ------------[] O |

Anyone know the status of the bike-in movies besides the one at the Kentucky? |

Now you should see "Edit" link on posts. No bbcode necessary just edit like a word document. To insert images, media, etc... just use the "Upload/Insert" links in the edit post page. For a whole bunch of images, it's probably best to use Flickr or other image repository and link them into your post through that same link. That way we can make a slideshow and other manipulations down the road.
The comments use bbcode, but the main articles offer so much more functionality....so be cautious and preview your posts because with great power comes great responsibility...or something like that. |

Just another reminder to everyone about the Bike Lexington group photo pool on Flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/748560@N21/
We started this group last year to collect various photos that everyone takes at the events throughout the whole month of Bike Lexington. If you take any photos this year, and if you're a member of Flickr (it's free if not), please add them to this group. _________________ ------------[] O |

thanks Bryan and it's superb idea to collectivize our imagery....and though I don't personally use Flickr much, it's a great service to forge together groups of people's photos.
I know I harp on/on about contributing to the Bikelex site. Here's my perspective so take it for what it's worth. The website and it's traffic is a key incentive to pull in sponsors. Though you should give love on this forum, the sponsors are looking at bikelexington.com. If you like an event, then post a comment on the bikelex site. It doesn't require a login and once you post one comment, the site remembers you on subsequent visits from the same computer/browser combo. |

I'm still not seeing where I can add photos. Not sure what I'm doing wrong... I don't see anything that says "Edit Post".
I've just been leaving comments and putting URL links to Flickr... but it would look so much better to have some photos on the actual pages. _________________ ------------[] O |

Nevermind. I figured out that I had to go into "dashboard" first... I wasn't aware of that! _________________ ------------[] O |

Speaking of pictures, where are the progressive dinner pics? There were lots of cameras around but I haven't seen any in the flickr yet. |
