|
|
Registration is now open for teams!
Go here to visit the Bike Polo page for The Bluegrass State Games
Pre-registration is $30 per team
Day-of-event registration is $45, so save some money and pre-register!
*Remember, this is our event - and we'll be hosting it on our courts as part of the state-wide games. We'll be inviting teams from Louisville and other cities in surrounding states... but to take part in this we need to follow the registration protocol as set up by the BGSG.
There are two different ways to register:
• Online registration form
Go to this page and click the "Register Online" button to the right of Hardcourt Bike Polo. This will take you to the online registration form.
• Mail-In registration form
Download the PDF entry form on this page, print it, fill it out, and send registration payment to the address on the form.
The way registration for team sports are handled through the BGSG requires one person from each team to be the designated "Coach" or "Captain" and that person will be the one responsible for registering their 3 man team. So, essentially one person will be registering and paying a total of $30, but that registration and fee will be covering all three people on your team.
Please note: THERE WILL BE NO OPTION FOR INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TEAM LINED UP BEFORE YOU REGISTER. Sorry folks, but this is the way we have to do it in order for this to work, since we are going through the BGSG to handle our registration.
So, start forming your team NOW! And if you have any questions, feel free to email me at brokebike(at)gmail(dot)com. _________________ ------------[] O

Chris, because the situation with this being part of the Bluegrass State Games is kinda weird, I am handling this like an invite-only tournament. I will be contacting the folks in the bordering states who expressed interest in taking part in this tournament. There were quite a few people who contacted me directly about it, and I asked them to act as representatives of their city's teams by forwarding all the information I send them (similar to the email I sent out to many of you this morning).
At this point, I don't think I'm going to make another post about it on the League Site, since participation in this has to be so specific. But, I may change my mind about that... _________________ ------------[] O |

Yeah Chris, that would be cool. Do you need me to work up some info that is a bit more abbreviated, or do you want to just throw up the basic info with links to the registration site for BGSG?
I think the 2 most important things we need to get across to people is that:
1) the tournament is only open to people from bordering states (BTW, I've been told that Missouri is the one exception because they have their own state games - this sucks because I wanted St. Louis and COMO to be in this).
2) teams have to be registered by ONE member of their team, acting on behalf of the other two players. There are no individual player registrations... only full 3-man teams. _________________ ------------[] O |

That's right. Gonna get me a shirt that says so on the back, and all of you will now be required to address me as "Commish". _________________ ------------[] O |

Is this legit? We were planning on bringing a team or two. We want to come play polo with you folks, don't keep us down. Illinois and Indiana have their own state games too.
