This has been brought up before and trying to get folks photographed with their bikes. Logan even offered to set up with equipment.
Maybe we can make this an event during bike month or at least set up a photo booth at a few events during the month to get as many people photographed as possible.

Anyway, here are two fun links

Damn. I feel like a doofus for not thinking of that during the bike month brainstorm thingy at Cheaters.

I'm still down for it.

I like the different settings and locales in the Louisville portraits... seems more "real" and gives a better impression of variety in the people, places and bikes.

But at the same time, it would be easier to get more folks involved (and easier on the photographer) if we had some sort of backdrop set up, so that the lighting and exposure all looked uniform.

Chris Thomas' backdrop for the KC project looks good, but it's a little on the sterile side... a little too "studio". The guys at Urban Velo did a similar thing with the bikes at NAHBS:

Logan, can you think of something in-between these two different approaches that would work for a one-day photo event?

maybe the bike-in movies at artek lofts would be a good short depth of field backdrop.

Logan we'll get you the calendar of events soon and we can figure when to add the photos.

Oh wait, the drag races could be also be a fun event since many will be in drag.

I'll figure something out after I get a look at the calendar of events. Tim's suggestion of the bike-in movie is good, if there's a decent place to set up. It'd give us several chances to do it at the same location.

Or halloween, or the rock n roll race, or the prom, or clue...too damn many costumes!
