There's been some discussion on the League of Bike Polo site about trying to get some bike polo games going in Indianapolis during the North American Handmade Bike show.
I know several of us have talked about going up there to see the show, so we should also consider taking our polo bikes too. _________________ ------------[] O |

Brokebike, can you post some details about the dates and costs of the NAHBS? I think it sounds awesome. |

No problem! Here you go:

Several of us have talked about going to this ever since it was announced that it was going to be east of the Mississippi this year (it's usually been held on the west coast). Just last week, I spoke with Henry about it and he said that he and Kevin were definitely going to make the drive, which is only like, 2-1/2 to 3 hours from here. _________________ ------------[] O |

This show is not to be missed! The Major Taylor velodrome is about 14 minutes from the show, and is open to the public. It would be fun to ride the banks.....

ok, so several people have expressed interest in going to NAHBS. Some are even talking about taking polo bikes in case there are some spontaneous pick-up games with the locals and players from other cities who are going to be in town. There was even a parking lot location listed on the League of Bike Polo site as a potential place to play.
I still haven't purchased my ticket yet, but I still really want to go on Saturday. Ideally, I would like to leave pretty early on Saturday and spend the whole day there, driving back later that evening. My main reason for going to the show is to check out all the bikes and see what the builders and other vendors have to offer... and the polo part (if it happens, even) would be secondary, so I would probably spend most of the time walking around the show. _________________ ------------[] O |

From the chatter I've read on the League forums, Lucky seems to suggest playing polo in Indianapolis on Saturday. At what point, I have no idea. I'll try to get his cell so we can hook up with him when we get up there and find out what's going on. _________________ ------------[] O |

BTW, if you're sure that you're going and know exactly what day, you can purchase your one-day passes in advance online and you'll save $5 ( tickets at the door will be $20).
I just bought mine for Saturday. _________________ ------------[] O |

I'm really looking forward to this show! I'm going up with Travis and Jim Almgren, and I know Rick Everton (from Schellers) and Alex Meade will be there as well.....maybe he will be inspired to to show next year....

He's made some cool stuff. I like the practicality of the brakes and frame couplers on the quandem. |
