Yesterday was my first time playing polo, and I had a blast. I don't have a polo bike and luckily I was able to borrow a couple. This a very nice guesture, but it kind of made learning the game a little harder. I had to figure out the quirks of the new bike each time I switched. I am sure that yesterday wasn't my only time playing polo, so I would like to build my own bike and would need some help. I have an eighties schwinn high sierra, an early version of a mountain bike. The only porblem with it is that the front fork is screwed. Does anybody have a polo quality fork that they would like to get rid of. I guess I would also need some wheels. I would appreciate any help.

Hey Ben! I'm super-pumped that you came out yesterday, and I'm glad you had a good time. Please spread the word to anyone else you know who might be contemplating coming out to play.

I have what was to be a community polo bike, but that plan failed because people kept taking shit off it when their shit broke, and they would never replace whatever they took or broke on it. There's a wheel set that is spaced out for a single speed polo gear, but the rear wheel needs the cassette lock ring.

You can either take the whole bike, or just use what you need from what is here.

Ben since i started playing polo about a year and 1\2 ago i try to keep an eye peeled for any salvageable polo gear. I have a decent stock pile(frames, wheel sets, misc parts.) Let me know if you need anything, I am always up for trading. Also, have you ever been to Wildcat Wheels? This is an excellent place to locate the more difficult items like a good set of used brake parts.

Ok with the help of Brian, I mostly have a polo bike. I still need one item though, front forks. The ones that I got from Brian won't fit my bike. The bike is a 1984 Schwinn High Sierra. It looks alot like a road bike, but it is an early version of a mountain bike. If anybody knows where I can forks for my soon to be polo, it would be greatly appreciated.

The front tube that the forks insert into is 8". Is that the measurement that you are looking for?

Does it have 26" wheels? There is a monstrosity of an old mountain bike like that up at Wildcat Wheels. Extremely tall frame and fork with 26" wheels. It will be open 5-8 tonight if you want to come check it out.

I would like to thank everyone that helped me with this quick build. In the past week I have built a polo bike and I think it will be a great. Brian Turner and the guys at Wildcat Wheels really bent backwards to help me and I am debt to all.
