I'd hate to put limits on anyone's creativity. Racers may wear anything (legally appropriate) that evokes the imagery and spirit of rock and roll. That includes punks, greasers, insane clowns (though utterly creepy). Really, the sky is the limit. I, myself, am a fan of the 80s hairband-type rock. Props will be granted to those who dress convincingly (i.e. recognizably) as a particular rock icon. And, of course, kudos will also be given to those who dress in couple costumes or as bandmates. Accessories are always welcome. |

Looks like we may be in for a little sprinkle, ya'll. FYI: The ride will take place rain or shine. Inside my heart is aching, my make up may be flaking... But...the show must go ON! |

Drew asked me to post this:
So, since the weather is sucking right now, it looks like it will likely clear up around 7pm or so. The plan right now is for everyone to still show up at the Sidecar at 6pm as planned for the registration, and if need be, the race will be delayed 1/2 hour to an hour to see if the weather clears...
worst case scenario - if it looks like it is going to rain indefinitely, then the race could be postponed entirely and there will still be Guitar Hero and karaoke at the Sidecar for those who want to come rock out.
So... either way, come on down to the Sidecar and have some fun while we see how this all plays out!

I saw things and heard things last night that I hope I can get out of my head. For those of you sucka mcs that were not there, you missed Jakub singing barbie girl, Kevin in B-spears drag singing, kyle being a rock star!
The rain made the race epic!
Thanks to Allie and all the brain power behind the race, all the checkpoint workers (who out numbered the racers), Chris and the sidecar for some good food and beer, and finally Geezus for the rain.
Last night was the first time I have ever been knocked off my bike because the standing water was too deep!
Can't wait to see brokebike and ptw's photos. |

that could go down as one of the best alleycat after-parties of all time!
I'll post some pics after bike polo today. Should be some good ones! _________________ ------------[] O |

Wooo! Thanks to all the riders, volunteers, and supporters who came out despite the inclement weather. Thanks to Press 817 for the sweet posters. Thanks to Henry the killer KJ. Thanks also to the Sidecar for hosting and to CD Central, Scheller's, and Common Grounds for donating some amazing prizes. Thanks to Miranda for the homemade cycling caps and to Drew and Lizz for helping with the organization and planning. It was AWESOME! |

So I missed the race but attended the afterparty. Damn that was fun. I was appropriately ridiculed for not riding of course, but racing at night in the rain around cars...I'm a wimp. I did pay the registration so I could have the opportunity to seduce the audience with my delicate crooning.
Alli super kudos! Congrats to everybody that did ride, wore some great costumes (Wayne and Garth you rule), and the KJ Henry Bon Jovi.
The whole night just proves either that we all have untapped career potential or that beer and a karaoke machine provide cheap wholesome entertainment...a blue-collar, diy Wii or something. |

Thanks again to Alli for the great race and party!
I just powered up the lights I won for DFL. Oh my god these things are hilarious. Its four 15" x 1/4" strips wired to a controller box that holds a 9v battery. They are like big stickers and they freaking strobe! I'm going to have so much fun with these things. |
