Wait, so is a hobo barrel just a garbage can that's on fire?
And how early can people show up to hang out? If registration is at 7 will doors open at 7? |

Is there any room for some polo antics indoors that wouldn't interfere with the race course? _________________ "The path of least resistance is what makes the river crooked!” - Utah Phillips |

OK, this coming down to the wire so I hope to clarify some important points for the bike party this Friday.
Yes, a hobo barrel is a barrel of burning trash, but to minimize toxicity, we will be burning wood in big barrels that once contained extremely toxic chemicals.
Alex will be selling these great posters and they will be available to win for those of you willing to face the alligator pit (yes, that is an urban legend).
For those of you wanting to play polo . . . hell, yes. Let's play polo starting at 5:30. Registration will start at 7. That is also when you can pre-ride the course, help set-up, make sure the beer tastes ok, etc.
Al's will host the afterparty. Food, drink from Stella's. KY ale. I feel like I have spilled the beans . . . it is going to be awesome. Look for an email from Alex.

but, can we have a trackstand comp in the alligator polo pit? And if so, how will that go down? Will it be double-elimination, or secret ballot?
C'mon Brad and Alex... you're not providing us with enough information here. |

so my setup for this is gonna be platform pedals on my cheap bike. im too afraid of my 105 and ultegra stuff getting mashed up, since i cant really afford to replace it this very moment. also, definitely afraid i wont be able to unclip in time on sharp corners and wrecks, thus the platforms.
anybody else running a different than normal setup?
ps, im gonna get smoked.
pss, whoevers organizing this should try to get one at the old mall on richmond road! |

there will be no track-stand nor foot down contest. but, you can track stand for as long as you want while everyone else is drinking beer and/or racing. |

trackstanding, while fun to do (I'm not very good at it), just isn't very exciting to watch... as evidence, I offer this really cool video that was made during the Curb Derby. As cool as that video is, tell me - at what point does the momentum of the video start to lag?

now footdown contests on the other hand (assuming you aren't referring to trackstanding as a "footdown comp"), while harder to come by, can provide some excitement in the bumps, bruises and broken bike parts category:
