Anyone up for a trip to DC? Lets see, when would be a good time to go??? Dec, no the holidays are hectic! Feb, no I don't want to miss valentines day. How about a random day in Jan? How about leaving on, I don't know... Jan 19?

Sounds like a fun trip. You'll get there around the 24th if you ride 100 miles a day. I hear there's some big event on the 20th, but everything should be back to normal by the following week.

One of these would be good for carrying camping equipment, etc, as an Xtracycle alternative:

I'm drooling over that thing. I've seen them built with the rail extension on the front, but not the back also. Badass.

I bet she's steady as hell, even loaded down. Frame-bearing cargo bikes are where it's at.

Its a one-off custom by David Wilson Industries.

It has a variable trail fork and a shimmy problem when trying to ride no-hands while loaded. (the bike, not the rider)

He says there's been interest in the design from a major manufacturer, but those things rarely materialize. I want one.

When I first saw it, I thought of this, one of the coolest bikes ever:

Yeah. Looks like he wanted to be able to switch between optimum trail for loaded and unloaded. Sort of hints that while it works he doesn't use the 2nd slot.

Leaving on the 19th + 500 miles / 100miles a day = arrive on the 24th.

This bike would be rather inappropriate for the trip, but I'm kinda in love with it at the moment. Fixed gear raleigh twenty. Needs a much bigger chainring.
