i'm mick from here and there.. i'm not a frequent bike-event guy, but I play the deejay of bike events in a tertiary cable reality show in rural bikeslavia..also? I like to procrastinate the things I'm supposed be working on by posting to the lexrides site..

Scott B
This is my bicycle. There are many like it, but this one is MINE. My bicycle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My bicycle without me is useless. Without my bicycle, I am useless. I must ride my bicycle true. I must ride faster than the car who is trying to pass me. I must pass him before he passes me...

I'm Audra. I have no clue how to post a picture but you generally see me at bike events passing out bourbon and cookies. Or pouring polo pitchers down at Al's. Or cruising around town on my trek complete with ale-8 basket. |

Hey all, my name is Garrett Shane Bryant and where better to make my first post than here?
Just found out about this place today after following Cricket Press on flickr and finally asking, "Hey, how I can I find out more about the bike happenings in my old haunt, Lexington?"
You see, I used to live in your town, my favorite place I've ever lived actually, back around the turn of the century. I went to UK, held down some late nights on 'RFL, was a part of 'The Great Cut Corner Takeover' when I worked at/on CD Central for several years, drank like a man at Busters (pretty sure they demolished my wrinkled still-unpaid $200+ tab along with the building), and was a general man-about-town before moving to Louisville, then Montreal for a while before landing back home in the east end of Kentucky-slash-Huntington, WV where I now reside.
Been riding lots for a few years now, however not in a professional way, more in a get-around-town kinda way while trying to lose some weight. Well, weight has been lost (LOTS) and this year have finally gotten into road bikes, big-boy bmxs and of course fixies.
Not too much happening here, but I do have a crew of local 6-8 riders/friends that are always up for finding more like-minded folks and taking some road trips, so.....
Hats off to y'all, let's do this.
edit: and may i suggest something that has helped tons on other community b-boards i've participated in? allow your participants to have an avatar/image under their name and strongly suggest people put their actual face there... it really helps when you're an outsider stepping in! |
