So I play on you tube almost every night watching random videos from random cities. And I'm thinking why don't we make something like this? Just for fun. I mean I don't know shit about making films and adding music to it. Hell, some of you might say that I don't know shit about riding bikes but I think it would give us a weekend project if nothing else. I know there are a couple videos out there from Lexington, but I'm thinking something really cool.Anyone else ever thought of this? Or maybe we've done this and I just wasn't invited. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

I've messed around with digital editing with cutting scenes, doing simple fades, music, texting and what not with Final Cut Pro...and i think it would be a nice little project to do. Just need to find somebody that can film... |

there was one guy here in town (and maybe he's a member here on the forums) who was shooting videos of his skids down the corkscrew garage...
I liked that Curb Derby video a lot. If anyone here hasn't seen the latest Void Skateshop video I highly recommend it - great shooting and editing.
I think it would be really cool to do some sort of video on bikes in Lexington, but not so cool if it looked like all the same old shit that's out there on youtube. If I see another video of a kid doing a wheelie to barspin, or some guy trackstanding for 10 minutes to some watered down punk music I'm going to stab myself in the eyeball. _________________ ------------[] O |

scene 1: brokebike goes running down the oinky hole with a letter opener jammed in his eye....that'd be pretty cool
i don't have scene 2 yet, but it might include setting yourself on fire. |

yeah Ernie was filming some of his stuff on his fixyourshit.blogspot.com But i think he moved away or something. Not sure.
Yeah I agree we would need to make it different than all the other vids out there. We've got some pretty creative minds riding around this city so I dont think it would be hard to come up with something.
If anyone knows someone who could help out with this let me know. Hell, I wouldn't mind paying a little bit to get something going. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

Scene 2, fade in, bottom of ramp, brokebike runs into an impromptu zombie dance number. As the zombies surround him he jumps on his bike and rides away. |

can anyone confirm if the guy who did the Curb Derby video is the same guy who did "Totally Normal Humans" (the Void video)? Seems like I remember Bryant saying that it was one of the skate crew here in town... I think it's Case Mahan, but I could be wrong...
update: ok, I just confirmed with Reid, and it is the same person... Case Mahan.
it would be cool to see if he would be willing to work with us on some video stuff. His video skills are pretty tight. _________________ ------------[] O |

Ok so I have the guy's phone number who did the Void's video and curb derby.
Before I call him, should we mabe come up with a plan?
Or does anyone even really want to do this? _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

you could call him and just tell him you that have the spark for the idea, and ask if he'd even be interested, and most importantly, how much he would charge. Tell him that you don't have any real concrete ideas yet, but that you'd be open for any suggestions he might have as to what might make a good subject for you to focus on... that not only allows you to think about a plan and what you might want to do with the video, but it also gives him some stock in the project as well besides just being a "hired gun" so to speak. _________________ ------------[] O |

You could totally rig up a camera to some wideloaders on an xtracycle to film behind/beside someone for some traffic bombing. If I could find the charger I would bring my helmet cam out to the next alleycat. |
