I deleted the old thread, and am saving this one for Ben to post more info either tonight or tomorrow. He's been pretty busy getting married lately, and is on his honeymoon right now.

Hey guys, hope all is well in KY. Like Brian said I have been really busy over the last few weeks. I'm on my honeymoon right now and it was hard to get access to post some details. I'm not going to post all the details so people can't plan out routes.

The race is called "The Continental", so it has a state theme. Every stop will be at a place that is named after a state, and you will to do an activity for the state. Don't worry, I won't have you eat a whole pickle and take a shot. The registration starts at 6:30 and will only last for thirty minutes. So, come early with a map.

The after race party will be at The Lower 48 to keep the state theme going. For extra security you are allowed to bring your bikes into the atrium for indoor locking. Lonestar and Old Style will be only a buck. Prizes will be given, and fun will be had by all.

Just tape your notes to your handle bar map holder and study while you race. [/u]

That is one option I am looking into. Others include trying to get someone to ride next to me with flash cards.

Everything is ready to go for the race. I am excited for it and I hope you are too! Once again bring a map with you and get there early. Registration is at 6:30, I'll see you then.

Great race Ben!

Hot sauce and crackers, bourbon, capitol quizzes, and good 'ol American can-do spirit made this a feisty ride. 80 minutes worth of an untold number of curse words spewed and cars dodged.

Big cheers to Nat the prawn farmer for seizing first place.

But I'm a little freaked out. I flipped my spoke card over noticed a number...that was my rank in finishing. Who wrote that? I'm generally paranoid, so who was sly enough to put my finish number on my spoke card without me knowing. Maybe a coincidence. Did you number the spoke card before the race?

Anyway great time and sweet bar that Lower 48.

the bourbon and wine shots were both tasty, even on an empty stomach and near the end of the race... but the hot sauce and cracker - not so much. Thank god we didn't have to eat any fucking Cincinnati chili because that is where I draw the line.

Congrats to Nat for the awesome 1st place finish and to Ben and all the checkpoint workers for braving a chilly Tuesday night.

good times!

The number on the back of your spoke card was the number that you signed in. I numbered them to know how many people were racing. The fact that you finished that place in the race might be influenced by somebody else. Could it be Satan, mmmm?

Did anybody end up with one less glove during the race? I have two gloves that were left at my wife's checkpoint, the California one. They are not a pair. One is a mechanic glove and the other is a fingerless glove. Let me know if want these back.

Did you happen to find my white, sequin-encrusted glove by chance? It's the only one I have, and I happen to have misplaced it that night while I was doing a spontaneous dance number in the street.
