Yeah, I did a project with Harold Tate in my undergrad. He seemed like a good guy. Who knew old Dudleys hand was in his pocket. |

I think his is a classic case of how good intentions can get easily corrupted when big money and politics are concerned.
Not enough people with big balls and integrity out there. And those who have it, get shut down quickly by strong-armed, closed-door tactics. _________________ ------------[] O |

Busters is gone. The only thing recognisable on the block is the first floor of what used to be Mia's. |

Some interesting and not-so-surprising footnotes to this whole dirty deal:
- Woodford Webb has been appointed Chairman of the Board for the Lexington Chamber of Commerce for 2009.
- Darby Turner, the lawyer representing the Webbs and the "face" of the whole CentrePointe fiasco in the media and at all the Council meetings, has just been appointed Chairman to the Kentucky State Chamber of Commerce. _________________ ------------[] O |

So I heard yesterday that The Dame is moving into the A1A complex on Main St. sometime next month. Is Nick still on here - maybe he could fill us in... _________________ "The path of least resistance is what makes the river crooked!” - Utah Phillips |

Everyone will know when The Dame officially has found a new location. Until we make an announcement, everything is rumor. |

anyway, did you guys see the comic in the herald-leader about centrepointe on Sunday? It was one of the funnier newspaper cartoons I've seen in a while. _________________ Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle |

$enterPointee marches forward. Council voted 10-5 to go ahead after the Webbs agreed to pay $50k of the costs involved in submitting the TIF application to the state.

They still refuse to reveal the source of their financial backing.
I think it is Satan. He and Saddam are going to move into the penthouse. They'll have a private entrance from hell via the lower level of the underground parking structure. The pedways will keep them safe from prying eyes. It all makes sense now. |
