some of you probably heard this story last night at polo, but I wanted to post here for posterity. Perhaps Niles and Tim can embellish the details a bit, and Tim is the real hero of the story here:

So the story goes that Niles (octopod) had his car stolen a few nights back. Then on Sunday, while riding back from a meeting about a possible community bike shop space on Manchester St., Tim (politicalhero), Patrick (iridetoobs), Joey (jkizzle), Clay (stringa) and myself were on Maxwell crossing Broadway when I spotted a white car with the Lexrides "skully" sticker on the bumper. I pointed it out, thinking nothing more of it, but Tim thought the car looked similar to Niles' car, with other familiar stickers on it as well.

So later in the evening at polo, Tim relays the info to Niles about the location of the car we had seen, and Niles goes over to check it out. Turns out, it was Niles' missing car and he was able to recover it.

Lexrides' bike recovery record can now add a motor vehicle to its list of accomplishments.

Tim is a true hero and asset to the Lexington community! Few men (or women for that matter) would have such awesome sleuthing abilities. But what it really comes down to is having that awesome Lexrides sticker on the bumper - you heard it from me, put one on anything valuable!

Looks like the thief used my car for a joyride - the glove box, armrest thing and trunk had all been ripped apart looking for god knows what. The only item stolen was my basketball shoes. Apparently its not too hard to start these mid 90's camry's with a screwdriver.

Thanks again!!!!
