Thanks for the post - bike blvds seem like an inexpensive means of developing safe biking routes. This should be passed along to folks at lfucg and uk.

I think it is time to let the LFUCG know just how persistent we can be. I haven't really seen any of the ideas discussed at the Bike Summit implimented. I realize that government agencies aren't the quickest but perhaps a letter campaign would provide the impetus to get something done. Watching this video makes pissed off that even if I am riding in a bike lane there is probably a mail truck parked in the middle or someone pulls out into the lane in order to turn or its covered in gravel.

I have been wondering about the post Bike Summit period. I know several folks who helped pull that off got together to discuss how it went and where to go next. If would be nice to have an update.

Anyone attending the BPAC meetings regularly that could report to those of us who cannot make it? Are there many citizens attending and providing a voice?

Summit update...
Shane, Brad and I are on the Summit committee. The update is we have submitted a list of recommended names to the Mayor for the task force. The task force will be totally citizen driven and not contain LFUCG folks. The task force will have a direct line to the Mayor and the TF will prioritize the projects that came out of the summit.

Currently there is the master bike plan that the city is working from. Many of the most recent bike lane additions etc were from this plan.

The latest construction I have seen is Clay's Mill rd.

Although it has taken a long time, the summit group is trying to send an update to all attendees. However, Kenzie just left for maternity leave so it may be slowed down a bit since the rest of the committee members are just volunteers.

Anyone else feel free to chime in but this is what I know.

is there anyway we can get signed up for that newlist? i wasnt able to attend the summit due to class.

I used to attend BPAC meetings, and would be willing to again for 2008, at least in the sense of keeping up with what's going on. My experience of it a few years back is that it's very much driven by hard-working govt types and at the time I didn't have the technical/bureaucratic expertise to really follow what was going on. Kenzie's definitely good people in my experience.
