Can anyone recommend any decent bike shops? I'm moving in two weeks to 100 Central Parkway in Over-the-Rhine and will be working at Xavier, so I need something preferably close. I'm sure there are some near the Univ of Cincinnati, but couldn't find any near Xavier Sad

(there is a pretty nice moped shop though...)

montgomery cyclery is by far the biggest shop in cincinnati, and likely by far the worst. the service is mostly by high school kids who bmx and old guys who mountainbike, and dont know much of anything about roadbikes in my experience. im mostly familiar with the northern kentucky shops, but i remember campus cyclery being pretty cool when i was in school at UC. plus, they had 3 or 4 guys come down for the curb derby alleycat last fall. a few of them worked as messengers when citydash still had their bike service as well and really understand bike lifestyle.

the cincinnati cycle club http://www.cincinnaticycleclub.org/ might have some reccomendations too.

the best bike mechanics i know are "old guys who mountain bike"

i guess that was a bit to broad haha. by that i meant that if you need something for a road bike, some of the people at montgomery cyclery will just tell you to ride a mountain bike instead and dont have much of an idea of what they are talking about when it comes to road biking as far as part/upgrade recommendations.

i meant more that they seemed to lack guys that actually ride a lot of road.

bio wheels was a pretty cool little shop, the guys were nice and im sure could take care of whatever you needed done.

not be be broad either, but you know what else is funny?

The flip side of that coin is this: there's a HELLUVA LOT of "road cyclists" out there who don't know one damn thing about their bikes outside from how to shift through the gears, and maybe fix a flat.

I've heard good things about Rieser bicycles or maybe it's Reiser, owned by a younger dude that does some good work in the way of mountain biking
