I hate this thing and I am tired of watching it collect dust. I would rather not ride at all than sit on my trainer. If you have never experienced the wonders of sitting on a trainer in your living room and would like to try it PLEASE buy me trainer! Only way I believe you'll get wattage measured is by dropping a grand on a Powertap hub, a grand and a half on a stationary bike, or a couple grand on one of those new power measuring cranks.
Power meters either work via the use of accelerometers or torque measuring devices built inside the drivetrain from what I understand. I think there might be a way to approximate it via pencil and paper, but I'm not sure how that would be done either. |

our friendly drunken sailor james is right. the options he mentioned are the only ones that I'm familiar with. Personally, I think powertap hubs are for people who make 70 grand a year though. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

yeah, im looked used on ebay... im still looking for that steal of the century.
i think there are a few trainers made with power meters built in, that or i might just be getting confused with a computrainer. oh well, i wonder if epo is cheaper than a powertap? i definitely need the help. |

I say go with the EPO. it takes less time with better results. Just ask Floyd Landis. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |

Landis got busted using testosterone not epo but I'm sure he probably used it just the same. _________________ Father Charles Goes Down And Ends Battle |
