I just ran across some old photos from about 5 or 6 years ago and it made me really think about how I have evolved with biking. I know a lot of folks could spend way too much time pulling together this post but I thought it would be a good self reflection type thing.
This photo is of one of my first true loves. Meaning when I realized bike were "cool" again when I moved to college.
This was a hand-me-down Gary Fisher Marlon. It was a size too small but I rocked it for a few years with a double wide milk crate on the back, with fender and sometime kitty litter panniers that I made.
From then it was to a Trek hand me down,
a too tall Peugoet from the thrift store that I converted to a fixed gear,
to a Trek frame I traded for homebrew that I fixed (sorry Alex, I still owe you about 35 beers),
to include a Raleigh road bike for triathlons,
to the old Trek becoming my xtracycle frame that I purchased for $50 at the Asheville recyclery,
to now a Surly Karate Monkey xtracycle.
Now on to a "dad" style bike.
Of course at no time in the post did I mention if I ever got rid of many or any of these bikes :) |

I first met you at the Peugoet stage of your evolution. I like the thread though _________________ Albert Einstein trembled when he found out time was water. Seeping through the rafters to put out this burning world. |

glad you kept all of them. I keep all of mine. Even if they're unable to be ridden they look awesome hanging around. _________________ The sound of a car door opening in front of you is similar to the sound of a gun being cocked. ~Amy Webster |
