I heard back from Elton, the guy who runs the Dayton polo myspace page. Here's a satellite map of where we will be playing next weekend, with links for directions:
Walnut Hills Park
Driving time should be between 2 - 2.5 hours to get up there. Straight shot up 75.
Play is supposed to start at 12:30pm that afternoon, so we should leave early enough to get there with time to spare (to meet and get acquainted with the courts and the folks we'll be playing with). Looks like an actual roller hockey rink, so it should be pretty nice!

Looks like the confirmed roster for Dayton will be:
Chris, Henry, Matt B. and Kyle heading up on Saturday night.
Me and Alex driving up early Sunday morning.
Everyone else who said they were interested in going before, can't now... so if anyone seriously wants to go and wants to play, let us know and we'll work out the car situation. |

Chris, Henry, Rich, Matt Burton, Kyle, Alex and myself will be playing in Dayton tomorrow. Weather looks rough.
At least we'll have enough for two full teams and a spotter. Not bad. |

I think everyone who went had a great time... I know the few of us who went on Sunday did. I'll let the other group of Lexington players give their details from the night before because apparently they had a pretty crazy night of bar-hopping.
It was drizzling rain pretty much the whole day - nothing hard, but enough to make everything really, really wet. Lots of sliding and crashing, mostly by those of us on fat-tired freewheels.
7 players made the trip.
At least 5 mallets got broken (theirs, not ours).
Kyle suffered 2 flats.
Chris also got 2 flats, one on his bike, and the other on Burton's.
Alex broke 2 chains and bloodied 2 knees.
Rich scored a full-court shot while smoking a cigarette.
I scored a goal for the other team by mistake.
Henry was the last man from Lexington standing after the Tournament. |

those of you who played yesterday - regardless of whether you ended up getting a flat or not, make sure you check your tires really well... I just pulled several gnarly hunks of glass from my tires that would've come back to haunt me later if I hadn't spotted them. |

The polo game that the crew from Dayton showed us was strong, but it was no comparison to the hospitality they showed to us the entire time we were there. I am always astounded and humbled by the camradarie of cyclists. They set a great example of this and if we can't beat them @ polo then we should try to at least equal their hospitality.
