|
|
LFUCG has begun a visioning project for our city and county named Destination 2040. Each of us have ideas about the kind of city Lexington should be what we should and could be doing now to head in the right direction. Consider all the aspects and features of life in Lexington that you care about and want to see protected and advanced, or ways you want to see Lexington change for the better. Join us on Monday, March 10th at 7pm at Al's Bar to take part in a Destination 2040 community meeting facilitated by your own, Tim Buckingham, Brad Flowers and Roscoe Klausing. Give voice to your interests and let your ideas and personal vision help influence the outcome -- our shared future.
If you are unable to make the meeting, be aware that there are other ways to take part in Destination 2040. You can contribute ideas individually at "Have Your Say" on the project website, or attend one of several public meetings (dates and locations are on the Project Calendar on the website.)

I spoke with Josh concerning refreshments for Monday night. Al's is usually closed. He is opening in order to be part of the 2040 process. To help us think better he will be offering bowls of red beans and rice for $4. And, to help liberate our opinions, the bar will be open with the normal array of beer, mixed drinks, ale8, etc. Hope to see you there. Brad |

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the initial stage of the 2040 process.
I heard a lot of great conversations around the room but more importantly felt a lot of renewed energy for us to keep creating and fostering a community.
It is important to always remember that everything that this lexrides.com forum represents is and was created by us. Look how far we have come and look how far we have to go.
Keep the energy up...Stay positive and keep working towards the bike community that we all daydream about. |

I have to say thanks too! It was great to have so many folks come out on Tuesday night. I heard a lot of great ideas and enthusiasm about Lexington, Its wonderful to know that cyclists are being represented in our city's visioning process.
Stay tuned for "round two" meetings which will build on the work we did during the first meetings. I'll make an announcement some time in May. Also, just because you didnt make the first meeting doesnt mean you cant participate in the second. The more cyclists, the greater our voice. |

Thanks. Can anyone provide a recap or is this posted online somewhere else? I'd be interested in hearing some other people's ideas. _________________ Sherman Cahal | Cincy Rides |
