is there any specific way one might wheedle some prizes out of the local shops? besides begging?

shops are always getting stuff from reps... maybe instead of asking for something from their sales stock, you could ask if they have any rep swag to pull from that might be prize-worthy...

I didn't hit up any local shops for the Halloween race, just because we've had so many races this past year, I didn't want to seem predatory, or make shops feel like they were obliged to give.
