My Acorn Bags Large Saddlebag ]was stolen from my bike on Jefferson street in front of Stella's. Yes, it was stupid to leave such a nice bag attached to such a nice bike on Jefferson street. Much of this is my fault.
These bags are made in very small numbers. Usually 6 bags per run, 1 run per month, 1 color per run. This particular model was just released in November. There probably have been 10-15 made, of this color, total. That means if you see this bag anywhere in Lexington, it is most likely mine. If you see one, please give me a call @ 859 two two nine - nineteen eighty nine. or email at samuel (dot) burchett (at) gmail (dot) com
I am offering a $25 reward for information that leads to its safe return.

Ouch... an Acorn. WTF! Those things are a pain in the ass to put on and take off (I know because I have a similar Carradice on one of my bikes), so how did the thief have the time, let alone the balls to remove that from your bike in front of Stellas?!? Was it left parked out overnight or something?
Shit, these recent thefts have gotten more brazen and more perplexing... stealing lights, stealing saddlebags... it's almost like its not just petty bike thieves doing the stealing. _________________ ------------[] O |

Yeah, they are a pain to take on and off. I was at Nick Ryan's from 6:30pm until 8pm. Not a huge amount of time, but all it takes is some jerk to walk by and consider it.
In the future, I think I might try taking my seatpost, saddle and all, with me in similar instances. |

After seeing this, I think I'm going to wrap something around the buckles on my saddlebag now... like some tape or twine to discourage anyone from trying to remove it.
This sucks, Sam. I hope someone spots your bag. I'll keep my eyes peeled. _________________ ------------[] O |

Thanks Brian. Let me know if you come up with a decent solution. I do take it off every now and then, so nothing too permanent. I was thinking maybe zip-ties around the dowel (I assume the Carradice has one) and around the bag loops. All it would take is a knife or scissors, but it's better than nothing. |
