Paul rules so hard. If I were to get dual brakes, this is the lever I'd shell out for.

It's sick how everything he designs is so perfectly engineered, and solves all the little problems that other manufacturers fail to address in their products. With Paul stuff, it's like, "duh", we fixed that.

i'll be honest, i'm running the problem solvers fix for this which allows you to run any lever and set each brake independent of the other. it took me a while to get it figured out, but i really like it. the paul lever looks super nice, but 63 bucks seems a bit stiff at any price point for a brake lever. what happens when you take a hard fall, your handlebars get turned and the lever bends or snaps? or when it wears out? the problem solver unit allows interchangeable levers at half the price. i don't know what it's called or else i'd post a link, sorry.

by the way, running two brakes has changed my life in polo. no more sweet 180 skids turn around stops, but tires last way longer, stopping power is better and the bike just ends up being more responsive and consistent in it's handling. so, one vote for two brakes.

$55 vs. $63 for Paul... I'd definitely opt for the Paul. I've had the pleasure of owning several of his products and he offers pretty much every little piece and part should anything wear out or fail. They really stand by their products, and most are machined from a solid piece of aluminum, so they can definitely take some abuse.

The option of a simple, high-quality lever that didn't look like a kludge is actually what's kept me from going down the dual-brake road...

this makes me rethink it now.

i got the double from problem solvers awhile ago.And never installed it and my only concern is it the main cable snaps....your screwed. As someone who has had a few brakes snap, it sucks and my shoulder still hurts from it.

Like Lucky's lever and the paul i see the benefit of having two full cables to a single lever.

I did just pick up a new polo ride, but it only has the front disk at the moment so we will see if i get a rear brake as well then i may run the paul or Luckys with a nice lever

Does Lucky not offer his anymore? I don't see them on his site.

I remember his being pretty nice and beefy, but I can't remember if they had the option of working with both long or short pull brake systems, like the Paul does.

I don't run dual brakes... yet, but whenever I do, I'm going for the lever. I believe Lee from Dayton had his cable snap during the joust at Midwests, and the simplicity of that lever is spot on. I've played with a pair of Paul Motolite V-brakes at the shop once, stiffest damn brakes I'd ever felt in my life.

The only change I would make? A textured finger grip surface.

Got some Paul stuff on mine & Sara's Long Haul Truckers: I've got the touring cantis on mine, and she's rocking some Thumbies and Love Levers on hers. She's also got a Paul track wheelset on her singlespeed bike.
