are you guys talking about the 2 1/4" ID and 2 5/8" OD UHMW-PE(Tivar) that MKE uses? I switched after atwell gave me some, and i'm not going to go back. the shot control is very good.

Drew... it's the same white UHMWPE material we used to use when Lex first started making mallets for hardcourt, except this is much bigger in diameter and has a much thinner wall thickness. Imagine this being comparable to the orange, yellow or black stuff we've been using, but slightly bigger in overall diameter.

You can drill it out a bit more because of how dense and tough it is if the weight is an issue. Personally, I used the same length and drilling pattern as I did on my previous yellow and orange heads, and I can't tell any difference in weight.
