Yup, get this on your calendar for Saturday October 23.
Registration at 6 pm, race at 6:30, Dance begins around 7:30.
Location: London Ferrell Community Garden
Flyer with more specifics coming soon.
For any non-square dancing naysayers just talk to folks who came out last year and had a great time. My favorite quote from the night was the clerk at the Marathon on 3rd and MLK, "there are so many of you buying beer I am going to give you the white redneck discount."

My favorite race from last year! Such a good time... I won a prize, too! _________________ ------------[] O |

Just take over Chris and Wes' ill-planned "Beat the Heat" race, and run with it. Just make it for the Winter when it's not so hot, and you can actually beat the heat. _________________ ------------[] O |

I heard a rumor that the Bike Prom is gonna be around Sept 11 so if you are planning something you might want to find out for sure.
Anyone know anymore about this? |

I'm doing the poster for Bike Prom right now, as a matter of fact. It will indeed be Sept. 11th. _________________ ------------[] O |

Tim! Harvest Moon and square dancing! I worked muscles I forgot I had. It was an awesome time last year and beautiful evening. I can't wait.
Useless trivia: this year's full moon in October is a hunter's moon. A harvest moon is the first full moon after the autumn equinox. That's sept 23. Should've asked the weatherman bro. |

I can't do it this year, because I've since become a wolfman. _________________ ------------[] O |

Thanks weatherman Boyd for the useless trivia.
As for the muscles, you must not have participated enough in the libations to not stiffen up from dancing.
Julie is gonna call the dance again this year and I thought she did a great job last year making it very beginner friendly. |

I don't know what wore me out the most last year - the race itself, or twirling around drunk in a circle for what seemed like an eternity. Either way, it was a damn good time... and I slept like a baby that night. A big drunk, sweaty baby. _________________ ------------[] O |

Oh I was loose all right. I think I did every dance after the prizes were handed out. The Virginia Reel was a little difficult to learn, but once we got into the swing, it was awesome. Julie did a fantastic job.
You're definitely gonna work your hillbilly muscle group and be afflicted with spontaneous attacks of "yee-haw!" It'll a be a night you won't forget. |
