With the possibility of sending at least two (possibly three) Lexington teams to its first big tournament since we've had a regular crew of players (my apologies to Chris, Tall George, Bryant and Tiff who all played in Chicago before most of us even knew what bike polo was), I'm wondering how many of you think it might be a good idea to ask a couple of local businesses if they would be interested in a modest sponsorship of our Lexington crew?

Not asking for much of course, but maybe just something to help out with some of the expenses of traveling, or team shirts, food, etc.

Josh from Al's Bar has always been good to us, and has expressed interest in supporting us in different ways ever since back when we were playing at Woodland. Sponsorship wouldn't even have to be in monetary terms... just in some general supportive way. If you think about it, having a local business or bike shop sponsor Lexington Bike Polo could also encourage more people to come out and play...

i think looking for some sort of sponsorship is a good idea. i briefly mentioned it to brad the other day but i was'nt sure what we would want to ask for anyway. i think we should totally scope it out.
