Well according to the folks from Louisville that I saw at the Lightning Bolt show last night, no. Supposedly we've all quit.

I'd say since it was Easter Sunday, some people were probably doing stuff with their families. That's my excuse. I had family in town from Pittsburgh.

So other than the few folks who are going to ladies army, how come no one has registered for the derby debauchery or even spoken up about it?

Easter huh? Im not sure what brian is talking about but I know people are busy and all but since its gotten warm we have had less people show than in the middle of winter. ( I am not calling anyone out im just venting)

I guess I just miss the way things used to be.

For me, Spring is when I have to plant, so I've had to spend the no-rain time in the garden, but that will be done soon.

I think the crowd will pick back up again as Summer gets closer. I know I've been missing not being down there as much! Smile

yeah, I think it will pick back up. This little drop in attendance happens every year in the spring. This is probably just a time where a lot of stuff is going on in everyone's lives right now. Students are finishing school, the weather has been shitty, and those of us who own homes and do regular work in and around them need to take advantage of the periods in between bad weather - just like Katie Jo mentioned.

For the Derby Debauchery event, I think they will still get a good amount of players from other cities even if Lexington's showing is slim. Those guys knew that it was the same weekend as Ladies Army, and they intentionally planned it to coincide with Derby weekend. The downside of that is that for many people who live here, there's also a lot of other stuff going on that weekend that people like to participate in, so those people have to make a choice... do Derby-related stuff with friends or family, or go play polo. For some, it's an easy choice, for others it's a bit more complicated.

Personally, I would love the freedom to drop everything for polo anytime something comes up, but I don't have that luxury Smile

I'm not going to make it myself because I'll be a couple time zones away, but I thought it was a big waste to have 3 spots set aside for our club, and then not have anyone go. Plus, I just hadn't heard anyone actively talk about it, so was just trying to give it a serious push.
