Ok a to start do we want a box corner ex.
the advantage to this is that the ball dose not get stuck to wall then you have to dig it out. but it will still take the corner and proceed to the other side of the court when cleared.
or rounded corners like in a roller hockey rink ex. like in Dayton. A standard hockey rinks corner has a radius of about 14.5 ft. |

I know that 4 ft. boards all the way around would be the ideal situation, but at this point, I'm thinking that we should start thinking about maybe just having 2 ft. boards since it looks like we may be pinched for funds and materials.
Only downside I can see is that there won't be any awesome checking into the boards like we see in Dayton. _________________ ------------[] O |

I vote for the rounded corners. maybe something very similar to what cleveland put up on their courts. this way we can not only use the corners to roll the ball up the boards, but it will give us more room to scrap in the corners.
As brokebike mentioned, I've always envisioned the boards as 2 feet or so on the sides and 4 feet high in the corners, although building 4 foot boards or so all around would be ideal. perhaps we can start small and upgrade in a few years when polo is a little more popular and accepted. and when money for the court is more accessible, but its no reason not to give it a shot to get as much donated material as is absolutely possible from various hardware stores and the like.
hell, why not a bake sale or a monster cookout, or even a local beer-tasting party from various homebrewers and lexington and louisville brewerys to raise money? There's a lot of money in this world that is up for grabs, you just have to figure out how to get it. it's the american way. _________________ pterodactyl bike gang for life! |

I like the fact that it's there. Think of how many stray balls it saves.
Plus it helps keep out the riff-raff... and there's a lot of that around Coolavin. _________________ ------------[] O |

In the meantime, do yall want me to see if the City will sell the pads we use for downtown polo? We could use these to quickly create corners and a divider down the middle of our pitch...
They might let them go for cheap and I think that we could leave them at the courts.
Whatchall think? |

The price would be a big issue, especially as it wouls possibly deplete our funds for building actual boards. I wouls also be worried about people taking them. Would there be any way of anchoring them if we go that route? |

say we get all the money we need for 4ft wall all the way around? do you all just want 2 ft?
Im with drew there is a lot of money and we can get it!!!
I think the pads would be stolen, tore up...
I got all the anchoring figured out and about $3500- what we already have is not alot to raise.
we offer to let business put up there banners for both days of the state games for say $100 plus get donations from the rich people that live close like on my street... |

I'm totally cool with a box corner... especially if it is much easier to construct. Rounded corners are just a luxury, I think... what we really need is just something to keep the ball in play. _________________ ------------[] O |

Step 1: Make a risqué calendar.
Step 2: Sell calendars.
Step 3: Profit.
Seriously, when I was doing a study abroad in Canberra the footy team from my dorm would pose naked every year (with a strategically placed football) which would fund an out of town trip where they watched a bunch of footy and stayed drunk 24/7.
Just an idea. |

Im down with that but i dont know anyone that wants to see me naked.
What we are doing is offering banner space for any business that want to hang sign on the fence during the state games. It is $100 for a space as long as you want to leave you banner up!
Please help spread the word, if you know of or run onto someone who wants buy a space please pm myself or Brian (brokebike) thank you |

I know three people who want to see you naked. No, none of those people are me. |
