they're good to have around, I guess... but I really never use mine as a flippable wheel. Seems to me like it would make more sense to have a fixed / fixed hub; that way you can have two different fixed gearings for whatever riding environment you choose... but you still have enough threads to stick a freewheel on if you want to go fixed / free. |

I think it is different if you have a true flip-flop hub where you can just flip the wheel and go. Mine is a flip flop but I would have to redo the spacing every time I wanted to switch from fixed to single speed. _________________ Albert Einstein trembled when he found out time was water. When I feel fast I flip it from 18t to 15t, but I don't know if a dual-fixed hub counts as a flip-flop. _________________ ridin' a heavy bike makes you faster |

Yeah! It's just another hub configuration to give you a choice of two or more gearings... the fact that it's fixed/fixed, or fixed/free, or free/free still makes it a flip-flop _________________ ------------[] O |

I've always had a fixed gear with brakes. Any bike is no more or less "cool" or desirable with or without brakes. _________________ ------------[] O |

I respectfully disagree. And I made a chart.

the other 35/20. _________________ " What makes the grass grow... BLOOD MAKES THE GRASS GROW...KILL KILL KILL " |

When I ride to/from the courts, I ride fixed in more of a street gear. Then I flip it over for polo. So I swap mine out pretty often. I'm super happy with the setup though. Trying to actually ride in polo gear is pure torture. |

Used to have a flip-flop hub on my first fixed bike before I got my IRO and I never really changed it. |
