I've thrown out the idea of having a skate party/block party there before. I wonder how well that surface will work. _________________ "AK'll light up your chest like ET."

sorry the surface isn't so great... blame that on the shitty contractors the city hired to do the surface work.
I have a feeling you guys aren't going to like it for rollerskates... _________________ ------------[] O |

when we envisioned the courts at coolavin, we did imagine a place where everyone could play polo, hardcourt soccer, etc., so i think any use of it is great.
(especially if i can hit on roller girls with tattoos)

I agree with Kyle, some folks origninally talked about having a dance party with bands and DJs and then showing films on the court after dark. Lets make it happen this summer.
I am planning a race for June, maybe this could be the after party! Who wants to help? Karaoke? |

I'd love to help with a block party! It's a great idea! Coolavin is pretty sweet, but the cracks would keep us from playing a game there. Its not bad for skating around though. I tried falling a few times tonight. It was rough. We usually play on wood or smooth concrete. Sliding is good, skidding is bad.
p.s. the kids at the park that wanna know...."why you gotta lock up the chairs?" xo |

The only way we could play at Coolavin is to bring a sport court. Maybe one day! In the meantime, we're looking for an alternative to Champs. If anyone knows of a warehouse type space that would let us use it for practice/pick-up games, please let me know!
Have a great weekend! xo |
