This sounds like a good opportunity to mention that we're having another Lexington VeloSwap that is tentatively scheduled for May 3rd.
Start going through your parts bins, folks! Last year's was a great success! _________________ ------------[] O |

Yes. Actually Reid Small from the Void Skateshop has generously offered up the lot in front of his store again. It worked out really well there last year, and I thought the availability of parking, lot space and the central location made it a pretty ideal location.
I think it was very cool of Pedal Power to offer up their parking lot for the swap this year - and I don't want to totally rule out the possibility of that location for future swaps... but again, as anyone who has been involved with the event planning of Bike Lexington could probably tell you, there have been instances in the past where certain members of the bike community here - mostly on the retail side - have raised issues about having these kinds of community events at bike shops. There was even an issue last year with The Void being considered too close in proximity to Scheller's, even though Scheller's is closed on Sundays and had nothing to do with the swap whatsoever.
Since I'm heading it up this year, I'd like to try to keep those silly issues at a minimum and not get caught up in the business politics side of things.
Besides, since this event is more about regular folks coming out and buying, selling, trading, or just giving away their bike related stuff, I think it's better for the vibe of the event as a whole to have it in a somewhat neutral location. _________________ ------------[] O |

I think it was for the best Brad, b/c somehow I get the feeling you wouldn't have fetched that price from anyone here in town. Also, I bet that under better economic circumstances, they would've gone $150+ easily on ebay. _________________ ------------[] O |
