Holiday Bike Parade
Bike culture is growing exponentially in Lexington. Join local riders
as an entry in this years Holiday Parade on Saturday Dec. 1 at 5:30
p.m.. The route is short extending from Midland Ave., up Main St. to
the Courthouse plaza for Light up Lexington.
Decorate your bike, join the yellow bike dance troop, help pull the
float, do anything you want on your bike. LFUCG's Bike Lexington
Committee has donated 200 blinking red lights to pass out along the
route.
Come help build the float or decorate your bike on the day of the
parade ( Dec. 1) at 333 Midland Place at the intersection of Midland
Ave and Winchester Rd starting at 11 a.m.
Other possible ideas include but are not limited to:
-Chinese Dragon Tandem
-Procession of all xtracycles in town hauling people and gifts
-Bike polo game during parade (or simulated)
-Tall bikes, short bikes, choppers, etc
-Unicycles

This group has registered with the Downtown Lexington Corporation and paid the entry fee so anyone who wants to participate on a bike is more than welcome.
Bring your bike decorated or come early to decorate your bike and help with various floats. |

Copied from the other non-sticky thread:
The build space will be at 333 Midland Place.
Note: if you are coming from Midland Ave or 3rd, you have to enter via Nelson (see red line on map).
Note #2: at some point Midland Ave will be closed to traffic to allow parade participants to line up, but that probably won't be until mid afternoon, like 3-ish. |

all they'll have is noise!
the bike armada is sure to be filled with creativity and randomness and hopefully Alex will be out to show off his mastery of the tall bike! _________________ "The path of least resistance is what makes the river crooked!” - Utah Phillips |

"going to work" is actually a euphemism for my paid visits to your mom & little sister |

I knew they were desperate, but paying for it from you? Wow.
(ps, that was my younger brother, he has long hair and a small adam's apple)
The motorcycle dudes were cool. They were all thumbs up when we rolled past. I got high fives from a few. They dug the Jingle Punx.
The parade was a damn good time. Thanks to everyone who came out and rode, decorated, wrapped, tied, danced, etc.! |
