why the hell are we supposed to feel obligated to wave to each other? Just because we're riding bikes or motorcycles?
What if the person I'm waving at is a total asshole anyway, and is undeserving of my unsolicited greeting? _________________ ------------[] O |

I'm usually pretty cordial with other bikers - a wave to those I recognize, usually a head nod to someone I don't. but rarely, if ever, will I even acknowledge someone who is a) riding on the sidewalk, b) riding the wrong way in traffic or c) doing something retarded like talking on their phone whilst doing (a) or (b). those people suck. |

I'll second that. And the damn beer trucks/mail trucks parked in the bike lane. _________________ Albert Einstein trembled when he found out time was water. Seeping through the rafters to put out this burning world. |

should probably just highjack the beer trucks. at that point in time, driving a motorvehicle does not negatively affect your bike cred, it enhances it. |

while we're on the topic of shit being in the bike lane, have any of you ridden on Euclid/Ave. of Champions in front of Qdoba since they patched the road up? While the road may be comparatively in better shape (hard to get worse from the previous situation), the bike lane is now split between the road patching surface and original pavement. so you have approximately 12 inches of one surface with one elevation, and 12 inches of another completely different surface with a completely different elevation. and just as soon as you decide which surface to ride on (in my case, the only pavement which is smooth), you come across debris from the road repair which amounts to a gigantic rock hanging out directly in your path.
for as much money as gets funneled into stupid transportation projects in this state, you'd think they would have at least learned how to fix potholes correctly... |
